Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser review

I have decided to actively blog after a long time. I have a lot of great things to review. I wanted to start with some makeup products or facial serum but will start with the Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser instead. I have been using this for the last couple of months and I can’t say enough good things about it. Let’s start with what the company claims.

8 oz and 12 oz bottle (12 oz is a limited edition one)

According to the Philosophy Website:

Our award-winning facial cleanser is loved by all for its multitasking, 3-in-1 approach to cleansing. Gently cleanses and melts away face and eye makeup in one simple step, while toning and lightly hydrating. Our cleanser leaves skin feeling perfectly clean, comfortable and balanced. Find purity made simple facial cleanser, the #1 facial cleanser in America.

Purity is natural. We come into this world with all the right instincts. We are innocent and perceive things as they should be, rather than how they are. Our conscience is clear, our hands are clean and the world at large is truly beautiful. It is at this time we feel most blessed. To begin feeling young again, we must begin with the most basic step of all, the daily ritual of cleansing.
Our facial cleanser:
-deep cleans pores
-eliminates makeup build-up
-natural oil extracts help condition skin

I was happy with my drugstore face wash and cleansers. But then I always wanted to try Philosophy purity made simple cleanser for all the rave reviews. It is very expensive in Bangladesh (around $36 for an 8oz bottle). So when I was in USA this was one of the first purchases from Sephora. It was $24 for an 8oz bottle (still expensive).
I’m very strict about removing makeup when I get back home and I never miss cleaning my face before bed but I feel very lazy going through all the steps.

This cleanser claims that it can remove dirt and makeup, tone the face and lightly hydrate at the same time. What! It was a god sent to me as their claims are so true. I wet my face with water, apply a dollop on my palm and massage my skin for 40-60 seconds then rinse with water. It removes makeup and leaves my skin soft and clean. Although there might be a light residue of eyeliner, mascara and stained lips present after cleansing. Honestly, I don’t expect a cleanser to clean all that. It’s a job of an eye and lip makeup remover and cotton ball. After cleansing I always need a moisturizer although I have normal to oily skin. But my skin doesn’t feel tight after using this cleanser.

I also use Clarisonic Mia 1 with this cleanser every alternate day. Purity made simple goes very well with this device and it felt squeaky clean. Only a small amount is enough for a wash. I am still left with 1/4th of the 8 oz bottle after 5 months of use. It has a light citrus like smell although it claims it is fragrance free.

I have two problems with this product. One, except the 32 oz bottle, the other bottles don’t have a pump. For me it is a little inconvenient to squeeze the bottle to dispense the cleanser. Another problem is that it has Sulfate and Paraben. But the cons are insignificant compared to the result I have received.
So will I repurchase it? Sure! I already have a back up in my stock. I highly recommend this cleanser. 
